Get over Yourself! If you Want to Be Successful You Have to do it Yourself, so Get Over Yourself!

We have a sickness in this world.  I know it is in the world today but I’m not sure that it hasn’t been in the world for many years.  We want to be successful but we want someone else to do it for us.  This never happens.  You need to say “get over yourself” and go out and get your own success.

Maybe you think it is too much responsibility for you to be totally responsible for your own success.  It is but it is a great blessing to be responsible for your own destiny and success.  Jim Rohn gave four reasons why we should be in control of our own destinies.

1.     You get to chart your own destiny.  Different people have different dreams.  Perhaps your dream is to start a brick and mortar business or do something online.  It is strictly up to you what you decide to do.

2.     You reap what you sow.  Sleep in or get up early and go to work.  It’s all up to you.  But remember you reap what you sow.

3.     No one else can stop you from achieving your dream.  There will always be obstacles in your path.  There will be people who don’t like what you are doing and they will try to stop you.  That’s Ok.  Shake them off and move on.  Chart your own course.

4.     You experience the joy of self-determination.  There is no great pride than setting your mind to something and accomplishing it.  Those who live with a victim mentality never get to experience the joy of accomplishment because they are always waiting for someone to come to their rescue.  If you take responsibility you get to live the joy of seeing a job well done.

So get over yourself and plan your own future.  Whatever you decided it is up to you.  Where do you want to be in the next ten years or the next twenty years?  It is your decision and that is very exciting.  Once again, get over yourself and decide what you want to do with your life.  Jim Rohn said, “It is not what happens that determines the major part of your future.  What happens, happens to us all.  It is what you do about what happens that counts.”
