Leadership Qualities! Their are Seven Leadership Qualities; What are They?

The late, great, Jim Rohn was one of the pioneers of self-improvement.  One of the things that he always talked about were the qualities of great leaders.  What exactly are great leadership qualities according to Mr. Rohn.

If you want to be a leader that attracts quality people to you the key is to become a leader yourself.  You have to have the leadership qualities that will attract others to you.  Leadership is learned.  You are not born with great leadership abilities.  Developing leadership qualities can also be a challenge

It is important for leaders to develop skills.  Here are seven that Mr. Rohn suggests:

1.    Learn to be strong but not impolite.  Take that extra step and learn to become a strong, powerful capable leader.  Don’t become rude stay polite.  Strong leaders can be leaders and not become arrogant.
2.    Learn to be kind but not weak.  Many times kindness is mistaken for weakness.  Kindness isn’t weak.  In fact a kind person has a certain type of strength.  Kindness means telling someone the truth.  It also takes kindness to lay it on the line.  Being kind and speaking the truth can make you the strongest person in the room
3.    Learn to be bold but not a bully.  To develop great leadership qualities you must be bold.  You have to walk in front of your group with a certain amount of influence.  You have to take the first arrow, tackle the first problem, and discover the first sign of trouble.  You must invest time if you want to reap the harvest.  Like a farmer, to develop leadership qualities you must face the weeds with boldness.  You must seize the moment.
4.    Learn to be humble but not timid.  You can’t get the life you deserve by being timid.  People sometimes mistake timidity for humility.  But humility is a virtue; timidity is a disease.  God says be humble.  It will give you an awareness of the soul.  To develop leadership qualities you must develop humility
5.    Learn to be proud but no arrogant.  It takes pride to build your ambitions.  But the key to being a good leader means being proud without being arrogant.  Arrogance comes from ignorance.  If someone is smart and arrogant we have a difficult time tolerating that.  Pride is being smart and humble.
6.    Learn to develop humor without folly.  To be a quality leader we need to learn to be witty but not silly, fun but not foolish.
7.    Learn to deal in realities.  Don’t be delusional.  To develop leadership qualities we must accept life as it is—the whole drama of life.  It’s fascinating.

Life is unique for all of us and developing leadership qualities is unique.  The skills that work well for one leader may not work for another, but the skills of developing leadership qualities is the same for just about everyone.
