Have you ever wondered why some people seem to be natural at
something and others struggle? We all
have talents. Some of us are talented
musicians and others are talented engineers.
An engineer would feel very uncomfortable being a musician of an
entertainer. An entertainer would not be
a very good engineer because they usually don’t have the focus to do what an
engineer does.
I think that we are all should say “get over yourself” and
use the talent that you were given to make the money that you need to
survive. We have the idea that we all
need a job, it takes a job. We have been
taught that the only way to get by is to be and employee and work for someone
else. That has worked in the past when
the jobs were readily available but it isn’t working as well today.
Most of the high paying industrial jobs have gone overseas
because they can hire people much more cheaply and they are also trained for
the skills that employers need. I can
remember when trade school was a very viable alternative for high school
graduates, but these days very few Americans are trained in the trades. Everyone wants to go to college and get a
degree. Most college graduates never use
the degree that they have for anything.
They are strapped with large student loan debt and they start life with
a debt that they will take a lifetime to pay off.
Why is it that we don’t use the talents that God gave us to
have a business to pay the bills? The
saddest thing I see is people who go to work for someone, have a job they hate,
and then they take the talent that God gave them and make it a hobby. God gave you that talent use to bring joy to
other peoples lives, your life, and make a good living at it.
It is so unfortunate that so many people have been
brainwashed to believe that they must be stuck in a dead end job for the rest
of their lives that they don’t like just to pay the bills. Even these jobs are getting harder and harder
to come by. Someday you may be forced to get over yourself,
develop your talents, and live a great life using these talents to provide for
your family. And why not? It is your God given ability. Use it for good, not as a hobby.
