Get Over Yourself, Do The Thing That You Need To Do By Doing Small Things by Getting Over Yourself

Do you have a big hairy audacious goal?  I mean one that is so big that you don’t know how to get there?  Well, you do it one step at a time.  That is how you do it.  Get over yourself and just start toward your big hairy audacious goal.

First, you need to set that goal.  Make sure it’s a big one and make sure it’s something that you really want to have.  You can’t have a six-figure income without a six-figure dream.  That’s all there is to it.  Many people say they want to change their lives and have the things that they want, but they are unable and unwilling to change.  They are overwhelmed with the world, their lives, and the things that get in the way of having what they are destined to have.

Here is one reason they refuse to say “get over yourself” and get the thing that I was put on the planet to have.  They make their big hairy audacious goal and then it completely overwhelms them.  What I mean is that they start looking at the goal and it’s too big.  It’s like the deer in the headlights, they stare at it and they don’t know where to go.

That is because they are taught the wrong way to look at their goals and dreams.  They are told to look at their goals every day.  That just overwhelms them even more.

Perhaps what we need to do is not look at our goals but make a plan to get to our goals and then take it one step at a time.  If we want your big hairy audacious goal to come into reality, make it and then forget about it.   Don’t think about what it will take to get to the goal, think about making the next call or writing the next article.

If you are climbing a staircase of 1000 steps would you look at the top of the staircase and then start your climb. NO!!   You would look at the step that is right in front of you.  If you want to make it to the top it would completely overwhelm you and you would quit because halfway though you would not see any progress.  So get over yourself, take one step at a time and you will get there.  Little by little that big hairy audacious goal will come true.

Get Over Yourself! Complacency is the Killer or Success, so Get Over Yourself!

Complacency, it seems like the whole world suffers from it in some form or another.  We are complacent about our success.  We all want to be successful but we get into a comfort zone and just become totally complacent about our lives, careers, and success.  I’m here to tell you that you need to get over yourself and become a success.  Everyone can do it; we just need to start doing it.

For many years America was the global leader in manufacturing and jobs.  We had an easy life.  I know when I got out of high school jobs were easy to find and most of them were high paying.  That is no longer the case.  Statistics are staggering.  Nearly 80% of all college graduates will move back in with their parents after they graduate because they can’t find a job that will pay the bills.  This is the sad reality of the end of the Industrial Age and American dominance.

When World War II ended we were the only industrialized nation that was not destroyed.  We had factories already built to make the instruments of war like planes and bombs.  All we had to do was retool them and we could make other products.  Countries in Europe and Japan were not so fortunate; their infrastructure was destroyed.  It had to be rebuilt from the ground up.

This took time, so Americans enjoyed unprecedented wealth for about five decades until things began to change.  The factories were rebuilt in other countries, globalization started, and the Internet became a reality.  America no longer enjoys the dominance we once had.   But that doesn’t mean we still can’t compete.  Things have changed and we need to change with them.

However, we are falling behind because we have become complacent.  Instead of changing ourselves we are complaining that our government does not provide for us.  We need to just say, “get over yourself” and seize the new opportunities that are before us.  There are many, even more than we had during the boom years after WWII, but we just prefer to stay complacent and stay in the same rut.  If you suffer from complacency you need to say get over yourself, get the training that you need to succeed, and go for it.

We are here to help you become the best you that you can be in all areas of your life.  Do you have something nagging at you telling you that you are NOT fulfilling the purpose you we put on Earth? I want to help you.  I want to help 10 people fulfill their purpose in 2016.  You must go through a qualification process. Get Over Yourself! I Need Extra Income but I Don’t Want to Change, So Get Over Yourself!

The statistics are staggering.  There are so many people who can’t find decent jobs today.  Among college students that graduate every year a whopping 40% of them can’t find jobs and have to move back home after college.  I don’t know the statistics but most of them probably have large student loans of $50,000 to $100,000 to pay off.  This debt will follow them for the rest of their lives.  It is not forgivable.  What are we doing to our young people?

The same is happening to the Baby Boomers. Baby boomers control nearly 80% of the economy because there are such a large number of them.  Since 2011 it is estimated that 10,000 Boomers a year will turn 65.  This number will continue until the year 2030.  That’s a lot of people reaching retirement age.  It is estimated the over 40% of them will never retire.  They will work until the day they die.

The high paying corporate jobs are just not available like they were in times past.  We have entered a new era.  It is called the Information Age.  Since the advent of the Internet we have changed from the Industrial Age to the Information Age.  Things are changing rapidly but many Americans aren’t changing with it.

We have Industrial Age thinking in an Information Age world.  What can we do about it?  We have to change the way we think.  There is opportunity in the marketplace like never before but we aren’t taking advantage of it because we just don’t want to change.

We many not change until we are forced to make it happen.  Change can be scary but when we are forced into it we will do it.  I read an analogy the other day about doing scary things.  What if you were on top of a 30-story building and there was another building the same height about 15 feet away?  Someone put a plank from one building to another and ask you to walk across it.  You naturally would refuse.  It’s too high.  You couldn’t get over yourself because it wasn’t necessary.

Now let’s change the scenario a bit.  What if the other building was on fire and your child was on the roof of the building.  The only way you could save your child was to go across the blank to get him or her.  Now you could get over yourself and your fear without a problem to save your child.

We are at a financial crossroads in this nation.  We need to change but many of us aren’t desperate enough to change yet.  You need to get over yourself and realize the only way to financial freedom is to change and take the scary plunge that you dread so much.

We are here to help you become the best you that you can be in all areas of your life.  Do you have something nagging at you telling you that you are NOT fulfilling the purpose you we put on Earth? I want to help you.  I want to help 10 people fulfill their purpose in 2016.  You must go through a qualification process. Get Over Yourself, Are You Sinning When you Refuse to Get Over Yourself!

What do mean you are committing a sin if you refuse to get over yourself?  That isn’t a sin.  According to the Bible it is a sin if you don’t get over yourself.  Matthew 25 records the tale of a man that would not get over himself and use his talents.

As the story goes the master of the house was going on a journey.  Before he went he called three of his servants and gave them a sum of money.  The money was called a talent and a talent was a rather large sum of money.  To one servant he gave five talents, to another two, and to the last servant he gave one talent.

While the master was gone the first two servants doubled the money given them.  They presented their master with double the money first given them.  The master for their resourcefulness praised them both.   The last servant, the one with one talent, buried his talent in the ground.  When he confronted the master, he gave the talent back to him.

The master became very angry and told the servant that he was lazy and wicked.  He also told the servant that he should have at least put the money in the bank so it could accumulate interest.  He then took the talent away from the servant, gave it to the servant with the ten talents, and cast the wicked servant from his site.

The moral of the story is that every one of us is given great talents and abilities by God that we should used for God’s glory and to better humanity.  The person that doesn’t use their talents will have them taken from them and will be cast out.

We were all given great gifts and talents to be used for solving great problems and being a blessing to humanity.  Many of us also have pasts of abuse, mistreatment, and disappointment that keep us from doing the things that we are destined to do.  The only way we can get over our past is to work on ourselves and work on the issues that keep us stuck. It is just as much of a sin not to do what you were put on the planet to do as it is to commit a crime and hurt someone.  So get over yourself! You and humanity will be better for it.

If you need to get over yourself and let go of your past, let me help you.  Do you have something nagging at you telling you that you are NOT fulfilling the purpose you we put on Earth? I want to help you.  I want to help 10 people fulfill their purpose in 2016.  You must go through a qualification process. Get Over Yourself! What do you Mean Get Over Yourself! I Just Can’t do It!

Many of us have faced failure at one time or another in our lives.  We usually blame others for it.  It was to hard, there was too much competition, or there were to many mean people.  Have you ever heard the saying “If it was easy everyone would be doing it.”  That’s very true, however, you can get through the tough stuff if you can get over yourself long enough to just do it.  The most difficult thing that we can do is get over our past.  We have past failures, past hurts, and past disappointments that keep us from having the life we were meant to have.

There are so many tragedy to triumph stories where people just said to themselves “get over yourself” and they went on to live very productive lives. One such story is of Helen Keller.  She was born just like everyone else but when she was very young she had a fever that left her blind and deaf.  As a child she struggled in a dark and silent world.  Her parents didn’t know what to do with her so they spoiled her and allowed her to do almost everything she wanted.  Even dinner was a horrible chore because she would just take what she wanted from everyone’s plate.

Helen’s mother was smart.  She started reading about the deaf and blind and the help that was available to them.  They hired a teacher named Anne Sullivan who was schooled in helping the blind and deaf.  Anne knew sign language and started teaching Helen right away.  At first Helen didn’t understand what was happening.  She just thought that they were playing some sort of hand game.  This went on for over a month until one day Helen was getting water and Anne signed water into her hands.  Helen got it and it opened up a world for her.

Helen Keller became a famous author before she reached her teen years.  She went on to become one of the most influential women of her time.  She was influential in the rights of the handicapped, women’s right to vote, homeless rights, and labor movements.  She visited 39 countries before her death in 1968, just a few days short of her 88th birthday.  If she can get over herself then why can’t you?  You need to just get over yourself and have the life that the Lord wants for you.

I’m Horrible at Connecting. What Does “get over yourself” have to do With Connecting!

My husband and I are dedicated to reading, Bible study, and prayer for at least a half an hour every morning.  It is what gets us started and keeps us going throughout the day.  We have been reading John Maxwell’s book “Everyone Communicates, Few Connect” and it has been eye opening.   We both thought that we were pretty good communicators, but we are finding out that we could use some improvement in the area of connecting.

I had to literally get over myself.  For years I had a horrible time connecting because of my past.  I had to think outside myself to get over the old scripts and limiting beliefs that played over and over in my head for years.  I was so surprised when John Maxwell said in his book, “You have to get over yourself.  You have to change the focus from inward to outward, off of yourself and onto others.”  If you want to be a good at connecting with others it has to be all about them.

One of the biggest issues that stop us from connecting is immaturity.  I have a beautiful little granddaughter that is six months old.  Her life is all about her.  She only thinks of herself.  She needs to be fed, changed, clothed, burped, and put to bed.  She can’t walk, talk or do anything for herself.  That’s Ok for a six month old.  That is what we expect from them.  We don’t say to her “get over yourself” at that age because it is physically and emotionally impossible for her to do anything for herself.

But as she matures we will expect more from her.  She will have more and more responsibility for herself until she reaches adulthood where she will be completely responsible for herself and all of her actions.

However we can become physically mature and still be emotionally immature.  I think this is the problem that most of us have.  An emotionally mature person will care about others when someone who is emotionally immature will only care about themselves.  In order to be a good connecter you have to change your focus from inward to outward, off of yourself and onto others.  The thing is anyone can do this.  You have to have the determination to learn a set of skills to change the way you communicate.

If you need to become a better connecter get over yourself, let me help you.  Do you have something nagging at you telling you that you are NOT fulfilling the purpose you we put on Earth? I want to help you.  I want to help 10 people fulfill their purpose in 2016.  You must go through a qualification process. Get Over Yourself! Admit it, You’re a Mess, you Need to Get Over Yourself!

How many times have you heard self-improvement guru’s tell you that you have greatness inside of you?  I am sure that you have heard it, you take it to heart, you go out and try to do something great, and then it never works out.  That’s because you have to get over yourself first.

It is true that all of us have greatness inside of us, God hardwired us that way.  We always want to do better, have more, and most of us wish to help humanity in some way.  I believe that people who are greedy have skewed since of greatness.  They think that their greatness revolves around self.  How much they can get for themselves.  They believe they deserve it all and they won’t stop until they have it all.

The majority of us, however, don’t think that way.  We really want to help others and make a contribution, but we are barely keeping ourselves together.   You need to get over yourself first.

What do you mean by get over yourself?  I mean that we all have beliefs inside our heads that keep us from doing great things.  Perhaps it comes from our childhood.  I was told when I was growing up that I was not good enough.  Everything I did or even attempted to do was met with my dad saying, “You didn’t do that right.”  He was a very abusive man and I believe he was that way because he was very insecure about himself.

My dad was a child of the depression.  He was the oldest of 11 and 16 years old in 1929 when the depression hit.  He didn’t get to finish high school.  His parents told him that they could no longer take care of him and he would have to leave home.  My dad was forced at 17 to fend for himself with absolutely nothing at this very young age.  He made it though life by going from place to place as a ranch hand.  I am sure there were many nights of hunger and thoughts of doubt running through his mind.  This set him up for a life of insecurity and doubt about himself that he passed along to me.

I spent many years with thoughts of insecurity and doubt.  I finally told myself “get over yourself!”  You are destined for greatness.  I found out that the answer was outside myself not searching inside myself.  First, I had to look to my creator for help.  I had to ask him exactly what He created me to do.  Second, I had to purposefully do things, and read books on self-confidence, positivity, and leadership.

If you need to get over yourself, let me help you.  Do you have something nagging at you telling you that you are NOT fulfilling the purpose you we put on Earth? I want to talk with you.  I want to help 10 people fulfill their purpose in 2016.  You must go through a qualification process. If you want to see if you qualify go here and sign up.  I want to connect with you about your dreams and see if you are one of those who I will work with to take your life to its purpose.
